Everyone Volunteers
To put it simply, there can't be a swim team without parent volunteers. Why? Because swim meets are extremely labor-intensive, and 100% of the labor is supplied by parent volunteers.
To succeed, everyone must help to carry the load. Right up front, all parents need to know that they are expected to help and they will be repeatedly asked. There is only one way anyone can orchestrate 90 events, most with 6 swimmers in multiple heats, in time to make their afternoon tee times - with lots of help!
There is a place for everyone, from the most technical swimming positions (computer system, results and clerk of course) to helping pick up and clean the area after the meet. No job does itself. For a list of committees, click here. For a description of volunteer positions, click here.
In addition to the meet volunteers, another set of parents puts in yeoman duty on the Stingrays Board of Directors. These people work literally year-round to ensure a fun and successful swim team experience for our kids.
